3D Modeling

This is a great way to get a sense of the systems themselves, by downloading 3d structure information and being able to manipulate the systems themselves. Using a 3d file format called VRML, you can do exactly this. To view these files, you will probably need to downlad a viewer from here. The pdb files below can also be viewed using the popular RasMol program available for Mac, Unix and PC by ftp.

Small Systems (without solvent)

  • Acetate VRML pdb
  • Citrate VRML pdb
  • Galactose Binding Protein (truncated) VRML pdb
  • Larger Systems

  • Water Ball VRML pdb
  • Acetate VRML pdb
  • Citrate VRML pdb
  • Galactose Binding Protein (truncated) VRML pdb
  • Galactose Binding Protein (full structure) VRML pdb
